for top Turkish achievements

The NRW.INVEST AWARD TURKEY has been presented for the first time. With this award, North Rhine-Westphalia honors Turkish companies for forward-looking, innovative investments.

The Turkish fashion label Sarar, the furniture manufacturer Boydak Holding and the transport and logistics company Gökbora received this year's awards. All of them have been operating successfully from North Rhine-Westphalia for many years. At a reception in the German Consulate General in Istanbul, the awards were presented by Harry K. Voigtsberger, Minister for Economic Affairs, Energy, Construction, Housing and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

"The significance of Turkish investors for North Rhine-Westphalia is growing. They provide important economic and cultural stimuli for the development of our state," emphasized Economics Minister Voigtsberger at the award ceremony on June 10, 2011 in Istanbul. North Rhine-Westphalia is now the preferred investment location for Turkish companies in Europe. There are already 280 Turkish firms investing here, including Egetürk and GTI Travel.

On the occasion of the award presentation, the new location marketing campaign entitled "Germany at its best: Nordrhein-Westfalen", the current campaign motif of which focuses on Turkish investors, was also launched in Turkey.
