Trade between Japan and North Rhine-Westphalia through the ages

The exhibition "Partners in Trade for 150 years" from 21 to 28 May, 2011 at NRW-Forum Düsseldorf highlights economic relations between Japan and Germany.

The exhibition focuses on key aspects of economic relations between Japan and Germany. Numerous exhibits graphically illustrate how joint trading has changed everyday life in the two countries. The organizers of the anniversary exhibition are the Japanese Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Düsseldorf and NRW.INVEST in cooperation with the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy, Construction, Housing and Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

In addition, one of the topics of the Business Forum Japan in Düsseldorf on May 27, 2011 is "current and future investment areas for the German and Japanese economy". In terms of technology, the event focuses on future industries such as e-mobility and mobile telecommunications, as well as nano-, micro- and biotechnology.

The exhibition and the business forum are taking place during this year's Japan Week in Düsseldorf. Both are official agenda items of the friendship year "150 Years of Germany and Japan" which is being held under the patronage of Federal President Christian Wulff and His Imperial Highness Crown Prince Naruhito.
